PAIDE THEATRE IS LOOKING FOR A DRAMATURG

PAIDE THEATRE is an experiment between community, theatre and art. Paide Theatre asks how important is it to have a theatre in a small town? How does a theatre influence a town? How much can a small town impact a small country? What about the world?

PAIDE THEATRE is looking for a new team. We are seeking people who are interested in working with a community. We are looking for someone who wants to be a dramaturg in Paide.

PAIDE is a small town in the heart of Estonia, with a population of around 8,000 people. It is about an hour away from Tallinn and Tartu. The local community has shown that Paide Theatre is important here. Paide is full of opportunities and a beautiful community.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR FROM A DRAMATURG
Design the repertoire in collaboration with the Artistic Director
Create the voice of Paide Theatre
Maintain and develop relations between Paide Theatre and the community
Be willing to learn about and join the local community
Approach problems creatively
Be organised and work well in a team setting

Write a piece on the topic: “Why does a community need a theatre?” (1-2 pages)
Send us a vision on the topic: “Why should I be the next dramaturg of Paide Theatre?” (either cover letter 1-2 pages, or a video of up to 3 minutes)
